Current in-vehicle networks were not built for a vehicle that behaves as one system.
CAN, LIN and FlexRay are message-based and, for CAN, arbitrated: what happens next depends on which frame wins the bus. They are proven, cheap in silicon, and supported by decades of tooling — and they are why the wiring harness grows with every feature added.
ASG takes a different starting point: a single ring, a fixed millisecond cycle, and one shared state that every zone module reads and acts on at the same instant.
