What we collect
We only collect personal information that you choose to give us:
- Details you submit through the contact form or the assessment request form: your name, your email address, the organisation you represent, your role, and the content of your message or request. For an assessment this may include details of the vehicle platform or architecture you ask us to look at.
- The basic technical information any website receives when a page is requested, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. Our hosting and security provider processes this to serve and protect the site; we do not use it to identify you.
We do not ask for special category data (such as health, ethnicity or political opinions), and you should not send any through the forms.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not use cookies for advertising, and it does not use analytics that track you across sites or build a profile of you. Visit statistics are collected in aggregate only, without cookies and without personal data, which is why there is no cookie banner. Where a security check is shown on a form to keep automated abuse out, it may set a short-lived token that is strictly necessary to complete that check.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To respond to your enquiry and provide the information or assessment you asked for, and to take any follow-up steps you have asked for. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us and, where relevant, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To keep a record of our correspondence with you and any resulting business relationship. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in managing our contacts and enquiries.
- To send you further information about ASG that you have specifically asked to receive. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not carry out automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process personal information on our behalf, under contract and only on our instructions:
- our website hosting and security provider, which serves the site and protects it from abuse;
- our email and contact-management provider, where enquiry and assessment records are stored so that we can respond and follow up.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Where your information is held
Our service providers are established in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area and the United States. Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, that transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, or a UK adequacy decision where one applies.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and assessment records for as long as we need them for the purpose they were collected for and for the business relationship they relate to, then we delete or anonymise them. We will keep information for longer only where the law requires it, and we will delete it sooner if you ask us to and we have no legal reason to keep it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or complete it if it is incomplete;
- ask us to delete it;
- ask us to restrict how we use it;
- object to our use of it;
- ask us to provide it, or transfer it, in a portable form;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
Exercising these rights is free, and we will respond within one month. To make a request, use the contact form. We do not publish an email address, to keep unsolicited mail down, but a request through the form reaches us.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk.
Children
This website and the services described on it are intended for professionals in the automotive and related industries. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
